This TARDIS folder sends CVs directly to the People Tool application. The CVs are then available through a “smart” drop-down menu when editing a profile. The drop down is smart because it only shows CVs that match the last name of the profile you are editing.
The File Name is Important!
The CV needs to start with the last name of the person, the people tool looks for the last name as a match to the profile. We recommend using last name, first initial, and then a date. Like this:

Connect to TARDIS – CV Folder
The goal here is to make a shortcut on your computer and then add or delete CVs from this folder, which as mentioned, instantly updates live.
Remember if you are off campus you need to make a VPN connection to the University first.
Windows Users
- Copy this text:
\\backstage.cehd.umn.edu\TARDIS$\CV
- Press the Windows key + R (opens run dialogue box)
It really is the key with a Windows icon, next to Alt. - Paste in the text you copied in step 1, click OK
- Taa daa! The folder opens!
- Make a shortcut on your desktop and name it something clever!
Live CVs, CVs in space, whatever… - Drag some CVs in, or delete some.
- Watch as they magically update on the live server!
- Be careful not to mess with CVs other people may be using!
