Program Tool – Link Pro

This tool was retired in 2022.

We can make the serve do a lot of work for us when making a feed. It can rotate a feed through terms and filter out undergrad or graduate courses for example. All of these options can make your feed and corresponding display much more efficient.

Feed type:
Classic is the original course feed, nothing fancy all the classes are at the same node level. Hierarchical makes a node for each term and nests the classes under each term node. You will need a different XSLT for each version.
Terms: No Selection
This will generate a list of all your courses regardless of term. You will not have a generated link in the feed to bring people to the course guide, because without a term the link cannot be made.
Terms: Relative Terms (terms will change with the date)
These feeds automatically rotate by term.Example:If you have a feed for current term on your Web page and it is Fall 2009, you will see courses for Fall 2009. When Spring 2010 term starts your feed, without any interaction from you, will change itself to Spring 2010! And come summer term it will change again.
Programs
You are going to see everyone’s programs! Good thing we use a common naming convention. Select the programs you want to appear in your feed.
Course Type
Restricts to either online, not online or both (default).Example: You could have a feed just for online courses and then another for in person courses.
Acad Career
Restricts to graduate, undergraduate or both (default).Example: You could do a separate feed for your undergrad and graduate students about the same program.
New RSS Link
Click the “generate link” button and viola! You will get a new link to copy and use as you see fit.
